Tinder is very practical in essence. Unfortunately, it’s also practical for cheaters. Statistics show that over 40% of people using Tinder are either in a relationship or married.
Considering such statistics, the rise of platforms and services such as Cheaterbuster is no surprise. But are these platforms as effective as they claim?
It’s time to test and review Cheaterbuster and find out if it really busts the cheater!
1. The basics about Cheaterbuster: what does it do?
Cheaterbuster is a site used for searching people and accounts on Tinder.
It does not work for other sites, it works for Tinder only.
It claims to have been featured on Vice, Good Morning America, Vanity Fair, and Cosmopolitan.
Initially, this service was called Swipe Buster, and later on it became Cheaterbuster.
The latest news is that this site is embracing AI technology for facial recognition as well. Due to this, the site is often referred to as Cheaterbuster AI.
Its claim is that it can find anyone you’re looking for on Tinder as long as that person has an active account on the app.
2. Using Cheaterbuster: it’s easy, but not exactly a breeze.
The site has a simple and pleasant design, and the steps aren’t difficult to follow.
However, you must sign up – register – on the site to be able to use it.
Considering that you have a person in mind that you want to know whether they’re using Tinder or not, here’s how things go at Cheaterbuster:
- Go to the site.
- Fill in the information: First name, Age, and Gender.
- Type their address (as accurate as possible).
- You can also upload their photo, but this is optional.
- Register on Cheaterbuster by entering your email address and creating a password.
- Make the purchase and receive the results.
The reason why using this site isn’t exactly a breeze, is because you can’t perform a search without signing up.
Other than this, the steps are pretty self-explanatory.
3. The pricing: How much does a search on Cheaterbuster cost, including tax?
When you’re ready to see your search results after you’ve filled in the information, you’ll have to make the payment first.
Once tapping/clicking on ‘See Search Results’, you’ll see this:
Which is essentially the pricings for various numbers of searches. You have three options: one search, 2 searches, and 3 searches.
Each option has a different price:
- 1 search will set you back $17.99 + tax, which equals $21.23.
- 2 searches cost $29.99 + tax, equaling $35.39.
- And 3 searches cost $34.99 + tax, making a total of $41.29.
You can pay via card, Paypal, or Google pay.
Once you’re ready, tap/click ‘Purchase’.
4. Checking the results after you get the email.
It takes a while for Cheaterbuster to have your results ready therefore you’ll receive an email that will notify you once the results are ready.
Once you get the email that your results are ready, you’ll be set to proceed.
If you’re logged out, you want to log back in, go to ‘My Account’ and check your results by tapping/clicking ‘Click to view’
Once you do that, you’ll have the results with the name and location you’ve searched. Here’s what my results looked like:
Note: I blurred the pictures to respect the privacy of the people displayed in the picture. Normally, when you see your search results the pictures aren’t blurred.
It also tells you the number of results it has found with the name and location you searched. In my case, it was 429 maximum results.
5. The site with little to no reviews: people don’t talk that much about Cheaterbuster.
Unfortunately, Cheaterbuster doesn’t have many reviews outside their site. However, I did some digging and found that Cheaterbuster on Trustpilot has only four reviews, and all four of them are 1-star reviews.
It does make room for suspicion, however, we can’t say anything for sure.
If you decide to hop in and use the service, make sure you write your thoughts on Trustpilot so that other people can find it helpful before they use the site.
6. Comparing the pros and cons: Is Cheaterbuster worth it?
Here’s the thing, it can be one simple detail to give the search a wrong direction. And $21 per search isn’t the cheapest option.
For example, if the person you’re searching for didn’t put their actual age on their Tinder account, or if they put a different name then you won’t be able to find them.
From a user’s point of view, Cheaterbuster is quite accurate with the results. I personally like the fact that it works internationally.
The procedures seem simple and self-explanatory. It’s easy to use, it’s effective, and it’s not the most expensive service out there.
Cheaterbuster also claims to be fully confidential, which to my experience and testing so far, hasn’t proved me the opposite of its claim.
But, there are some things you must consider before deciding that this is your way to go with it.

7. Are there any good Cheaterbuster alternatives out there?
If someone is using dating apps, they’re likely to use Tinder, it’s true.
But there are other dating apps that are used by people. As much as it is effective, Cheaterbuster is also replaceable.
We already know, Cheaterbuster doesn’t work for Bumble or Hinge, unfortunately.
Therefore, you can find your partner or anyone on dating apps (including Tinder) by using other services.
Considering the need for such services, there are plenty of them in the market.
– A free Cheaterbuster alternative: a Google search.
Before you get yourself into a process of putting time, money, and effort, there’s a free alternative to Cheaterbusters: Google.
- Open Google and type: site:tinder.com name – put their name and check the Google results.
- Open a new tab, and type: tinder.com/@username – give your best guess at their username.
- Do a reverse image search – search an image of theirs on Google.
– Swindlerbuster: One search for all dating sites.
Although not free, this is another effective alternative when it comes to finding someone on dating sites.
The advantage to this is that it’s not limited to Tinder. It searches all dating sites by name, phone number, and pictures (image search).
– SocialCatfish: All social media.
With Socialcatfish you can search a person through their email, phone number, name, and/or age.
Besides the various options, you get to do your search, you also get to search the person generally instead of one specific dating app.
Final word: How many stars am I giving to Cheaterbuster?
There are plenty of ways you can find out if someone has a dating profile or just find someone you accidentally swiped left on on Tinder.
In itself, Cheaterbuster both as a service and a concept, it’s not that bad in fact.
It works quite well, and it seems to stay by what it is advertising. However, the prices of the searches and the odds of making a search the wrong way might not work well in your favor.
Pragmatically speaking, one single search is a bit expensive considering the limitations.
As a conclusion, the Cheaterbuster might as well bust the cheater!
